Gradall Forklift Part

Gradall Forklift Parts - The Gradall excavator was the brainchild of two brothers Koop and ray Ferwerda. The excavator was created In the 1940's all through WWII, when there was a scarcity of labourers. The brothers faced the problems of a depleted labor force because of the war. As partners in their Cleveland, Ohio construction business known as Ferwerda-Werba-Ferwerda they lacked the available laborers to be able to do the delicate tasks of finishing and grading on their highway projects. The Ferwerda brothers chose to make an equipment which would save their business by making the slope grading work more efficient, less manual and easier.

The first excavator prototype consisted of a device with two industrial beams on a rotating platform fixed to a used truck. There was a telescopic cylinder that was used to move the beams backward and forward. This allowed the fixed blade at the far end of the beams to push or pull the dirt. Before long enhancing the very first design, the brothers built a triangular boom in order to add more strength. As well, they added a tilt cylinder which let the boom rotate 45 degrees in either direction. A cylinder was positioned at the rear of the boom, powering a long push rod to enable the machinery to be equipped with either a blade or a bucket attachment.

Gradall introduced in 1992, with the introduction of the new XL Series hydraulics, the most innovative adjustment in their machines since their creation. This new system of top-of-the-line hydraulics allowed the Gradall excavator to provide comparable power and high productivity to the more conventional excavators. The XL Series ended the first Gradall equipment power drawn from gear pumps and low pressure hydraulics. These traditional systems efficiently handled finishing work and grading but had a hard time competing for high productivity tasks.

The new XL Series Gradall excavators proved a remarkable increase in their lifting and digging ability. These versions were manufactured with a piston pump, high-pressure hydraulics system that showed immense improvements in boom and bucket breakout forces. The XL Series hydraulics system was also developed with a load-sensing capability. Traditional excavators utilize an operator to select a working-mode; where the Gradall system can automatically adjust the hydraulic power for the job at hand. This makes the operator's general work easier and likewise conserves fuel at the same time.

When their XL Series hydraulics came onto the market, Gradall was basically thrust into the highly competitive market of machinery meant to tackle excavation, demolition, pavement removal as well as different industrial work. Marketability was further improved with their telescoping boom due to its exclusive ability to work in low overhead areas and to better position attachments.
